Students will learn how to take wool fibers (“fluff”) and, with water, soap, and your own hands, turn it into fabric. No experience necessary. This has been a highly requested class designed for those who want to create their own custom fabric. Fabric can then be used in other art forms like quilting, sewing, embroidery, beading, applique, and collage. Once you unlock the mystery of wool felting, you can create any color, texture, and design you would like. In this class, students select from well over 40 embellishment fibers such as silks, soybean fibers, angelina, and wool locks. We will also discuss simple projects that will utilize the fabric created during class such as 2D artwork, bracelet cuffs, and home accessories like pillows or coasters. All students will take home their own wet felting kit allowing them to have the tools needed in continuing to wet felt into the future.
